The OS check is done anyway. The variable is 'opsys' which is set to
freebsd. I guess, all we have said would be the same on OpenBSD as
well, since it's somewhat port-related. I don't know about NetBSD,
but "*bsd" might be a good bet.
Still, I don't know enough about the configure mechanism to make this
work, it would all be guesswork. Maybe line 3072 ff (CVS 1.181 of
configure) might be a good place to start with.
