I know. I fear though that this might drag in other problem like
endless updates of things I don't want but for a good cause I guess I
can do it ;-)

Well the problem there is to find out where to install it or how to
point to it or both. I did however some experiment with the native
build a few months ago so I might have an environment almost ready for
that.
