You may want to build XEmacs on your system. This shouldn't make a
difference if you have a vanilla Mandriva system (or any vendor), but
sometimes it does.

You're crashing in make-frame, which may indicate that XEmacs has a
problem finding fonts. What does "xlsfonts | head" tell you?
