Here are the options that have worked for me since 21.5.7 (output from M-x
describe-installation). I do not use Fink because I had problems with it
when I first installed and tried to build Pine and XEmacs. So I cannot
attest that these settings would work for a Fink system. Also, I don't use
XEmacs without X being loaded as there are problems with the keyboard event
loop not recognizing the 'return' key as 'enter'. I use Emacs when I am
stuck in terminal.
