Unfortunately, Debian now defaults to 2.5x under circumstances I don't
understand. Other distros will undoubtedly follow. Some will
probably discontinue 2.13....
I would like to see a patch that detects autoconf >2.13 (maybe 2.14?)
and barfs if found, especially for the XEmacs 21.4 series. Give me
that, and I'll apply your little fix along with it.
For Xemacs 21.5, I think we could also include a temporary configure
option that warns that 2.5x is not supported and known not to work,
either, but that anybody who wants to work on it can take their lumps
and send in patches. ;-)
Preferably big ones that Didier likes to review. Maybe we should see
if Ben has any 500kb configure patches left around?
