successive refreshments to keep up with the number of requests stacked.
that is: it does not repaint fast enough i think, whereas the rest of
the frame is repainted correctly, and does not stack all repaint
requests.
result is that it blinks for several seconds after i moved a window over
xemacs.
This is a general problem with subwindows. There is code that stops it
happening infinitely, but there are no optimizations. Better safe than sorry.
