Please don't strip the binary. We'll take a look, but without
function names in the backtrace, the backtrace is useless.
"It was like that when I got here, I swear." I never ran strip on it
myself; it was just:
$ cvs update
$ make clean
$ configure // no options
$ make
# make install
I'll poke the Makefile to make sure strip is not run, and then I'll try
to reproduce the crash.
