Yes. I was about to come to that as well. Thanks for bringing it up.
If it is left out for some good reason it could have impact whether it should
be deprecated. Even if it is the tip in the xemacs package rqepo I think it is
far behind the current upstream version which makes it questionable maybe to
release it?
Well, from upstream's

Which is already six years behind -current:

eight years ahead of the XEmacs ess. Funny that the website still names
