Yes, indeed this seems to be a 21.4.9 (maybe Windows [2]) bug, I am
aware of two similar bug reports, both of which have been sent by a
Windows XEmacs user (as is this one too). I cannot reproduce any of
these using 21.4.9 on Linux.
I'll investigate. If it is syntax related I'll either fix it or rebuild with
syntax tables.
