I've just gotten 21.4.12 compiled and running (with the sumo
package
tarball) and was hoping that this version would correct what I thought
was a bug in 21.1.14 in the shell mode. The "bug" (if it is a bug) is that
the command text that the user types does not show up in a different
color than the output text. In version 20.4.?, I had things set
up so that what I typed into the shell was yellow. This makes it much
easier to scroll back and find a certain command.
Is there a way to do that in this version, or is that feature broken?
When I go to Options-->Edit Faces, I see that the comint face still
has the foreground set to yellow, but all I see is white text when
I type in the shell. (I use the -rv option, so all the text is white
on black.)
This feature appears to have been explicitly disabled. Look for the
comment:
;; Disable this for now. I'm not sure that font-lock doesn't do better
in comint.el.
