OOPS! I have a follow up on this. Good to hear that it works OK for
you.
There are some more problems though:
- If dired-find-subdir is t then it seems like that in
dired-find-buffer-nocreate the check whether the buffer has the
right mode, dired or vc-dired-mode, isn't performed so that dired
or vc-directory wins in creating the buffer. Both commands are then
visiting the same buffer.
With dired-find-subdir equal to nil makes dired and vc-directory
use different buffers which is better.
- When you do a vc-directory to a directory that you already are
visiting in vc-dired-mode it seems like dired-sort-other is called
and it just assumes it should relist the folder. The GNU Emacs
versions seems to be smarter about whether a relist or not is
necessary.
If this is the right thing to fix or if the listing should be done
again and omitting the non changed files should be applied again is
another story.
I'll see whether I can come up with a patch but if someone would like
to help out with a fix for the above please do.
