That is certainly what is happening. However, XEmacs should not
crash. This kind of thing can always happen because X is designed to
be asynchronous; the client and the server just keep talking at each
other even though they know the other is doing things "behind their
back".
The back trace is also different if I click on the splash screen to
get
rid of it and then close the window. This, perhaps, looks a bit better.

something out.
