This works just fine for me. I'm guessing you have focus follows mouse,
which I don't and suspect can't have because I'm on NT. But I don't see
why
focus follows mouse would be a problem.
I don't even have to move my mouse on linux - just doing a C-l causes it to
happen. Splitting the frame causes them to come back, but then C-l loses
them again. This is with click-to-focus.
