Your usage of the term and the branch is very surprising to the way
most projects use their branches. I personally was very surprised when
checking out the head of the 21.4 branch as per website didn't give
21.4.6rc1 but 21.4.5 instead.
Do I understand the info from CVS correctly that you effectively make
a mini-branch for every release. That somehow feels wrong. Is there
a chance of convincing you to use the "head" in the 21.4 branch for
the release candidate and mark the official releases with a tag?.
