thanks for the tip. It is a good idea to get-rid of the old timer and
pc-select i had.
It did not solve the (very) slow startup time of emacs with clearcase.

Hi Gil!
I have just forwarded your bug report to our Clearcase maintainer, so
hopefully Michael will be able to help you. But in the meantime you
might want to do something about all your lisp shadows.
It looks like you have some of GNU/Emacs' load-path in XEmacs'
load-path. Normally this isn't a good thing because there are very
often differences between GNU/Emacs lisp libraries and XEmacs ones.
I'm not suggesting that this will solve your Clearcase problem (although
it might), but it may prevent other problems.
