Ar an séú lá is fiche de mí Iúil, scríobh Stephen J. Turnbull:
Malcolm <malcolm(a)malcolm-agnew.de> is using a German keyboard.
He
reported on xemacs-news:
MA> I have a strange problem with Windows XP Professional using
MA> any version of xemacs (i.e. native or cygwin port).
MA> Any combination of AltGr to obtain "{", "}", etc. fails.
But
MA> in a cygwin bash shell or an xterm the combination works.
MA> I do not have the same problem with Windows 2000, or Windows
MA> NT. As far as I can see relevent registry values are
MA> equivalent.
He later followed up with:
MA> After sooo long I found out what my problem is, although I
MA> don't have a fix yet. I had ALWAYS run windows xemacs under
MA> VNC. Running directly is no problem.
Anybody have a clue to offer?
I can reproduce a similar problem in the following setup:
1. Start XEmacs on Win32; set the keyboard layout to an English-language
layout. Start VNC Server.
2. Connect to the VNC server instance from a machine where the keyboard
layout is German. The local German layout is ignored; the remote layout
is respected.
The solution is to use the “Textdienste und Eingabesprachen” (or “Text
Services and Input Languages”) configuration under Windows to set the
keyboard layout to German on the remote machine (that is, on the machine
where XEmacs is running.) Tested with TightVNC, XEmacs 21.5.27, Windows XP
Professional. That said, I don’t know if ü works for Malcolm in the context
where { doesn’t; that would make things different.
