I thought the whole reason that we included loadable modules was so that
projects like this could be "supported" in the main development tree
without shooting large numbers of users and maintainers in various parts
of their anatomy.
I don't see what the fuss is, although if you can't do it with loadable
modules then I would have to start jumping up and down and tearing my hair
out .... :)
