I disagree. There is absolutely no reason to postpone 21.0 because of
this, because the same problem was present in 20.4, and is still
present in FSF Emacs (only Stallman doesn't consider it a problem).
Imagine the poor guy that uses XEmacs to try it, Customize and save
some variables. Now next time he starts stallmacs, his .emacs full
of custom stuff will blow in his face ?! I *know* it's the way it is
in 20.[3,4]. I just can't beleive it :-/
Try it if you don't believe it.
Really, can't we afford one or two more weeks of `feature
unfreeze'
to solve this[2] ?
I would advise against this.
