Well,
(global-set-key 'backspace 'delete-backward-char)
doesn't cut the mustard. Despite "stty erase ^?".
However,
(global-set-key "\C-h" 'delete-backward-char)
works. Does 'backspace correspond to the event generated by the erase
character?
