Cut & Paste Problems

Huhu, I've just installed 21.2.16 and now I have a problem with cut & paste. According to the Changelog-File the selection-behaviour has changed. Fine with me, but I'm used to mark lines I want to copy with the left mouse button and than copy it with the middle mouse button. I've tried that with 21.2.16 and got a "no selection: PRIMARY" in the modeline. I looked into x-select.el but I'm to stupid to find a way to tell XEmacs to act the old way. Any hints?
