Oh, yeah, you can thank Aidan Kehoe for this one.
Apply this patch (untested, that's why I haven't submitted it
yet),
rebuild XEmacs, and test.
Thanks for the patch, but I have difficulties applying
it. From what I can see it should be applied to varios files
faces.el fontcolor.c etc.
Now in the main directory
I tried
patch < xsymbol.patch
patch -p0 < xsymbol.patch
patch -p1 < xsymbol.patch

| patch -p1 < xsymbol-patch
| patching file lisp/ChangeLog
| patching file src/ChangeLog
| patching file lisp/faces.el
| can't find file to patch at input line 64
| Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
| The text leading up to this was:

the same,
So something is wrong here, but what ???
