This will save you a lot of grief as I have very little time to spend
on Xft right now. I apologize for that, but I really appreciate your
testing and reports, and AFAICT Aidan has things well in hand, so
maybe that won't be so bad.
Eric Knauel (who wrote the original patch but doesn't show up on this
list) will have commit authority _very_ soon, and Aidan's application
for commit privilege is in process, so you should be able to get
interim fixes even when I'm "away from my desk." :-)

The warnings are debug information. I'll try to get around to turning
the volume down over the weekend. In the meantime, you can suppress
_display_ of the warnings (and the popup *Warnings* buffer) with
(add-to-list 'display-warning-suppressed-classes 'xft)
in your init file.
I think this is documented in (Internals)Future Work--Better Rendering
Support.
