This happens with every version in the 'stable' branch. I haven't tried
any other branch. I *would* include a C trace, but the "core" file
mentioned above does not exist.
Doing a "ulimit -c unlimited" before starting xemacs could help in
getting the core file. Maybe Slackware disables them by default.
I would send you the information from
M-x describe-installation, but I can't get far enough into xemacs to
execute the command.
But you said above that you don't get the error when running xemacs at
console, can't you use that for sending the report?
Anyway, I would recommend that you'd use the 'gamma' (21.4) branch at
the moment, it's not far from being declared stable, and is already much
better than 21.1.
