Build is one thing---I've caught a fair number of silly typos with
union type, just as I'm sure you did. I always build with union type,
and I have yet to see a build problem with union type that wasn't
either (a) a silly typo or (b) also reflected in the integer type
build.
Run is another thing. Ben claims he sees intermittent (== not during
build, presumably) crashes when building with union type, not when
building without. I can't verify that integer type doesn't crash, as
I normally run the union type build. But I do get "stack stomped"
kinds of crashes very intermittently, especially when heavily using
Gnus.
You're a VM user, right? It seems like the only thing that reliably
gets XEmacs in trouble is Gnus. :-/
