Hi,
I just sent my first sync-patch to xemacs-patches and when I tried to
prepare that patch it became obvious to me how hard it is to do such a
sync. There is no way that I could test everything in there because of
the support for different operative systems, versions etc.
A possible strategy would be just to patch the things that can be
tested and verified. On the other hand that would probably make the
sync-process very slow.
You could argue that the patch is up to review anyway so if it is bad
somewhere the reviewers would spot that and fix it. This would
probably mean faster progress with the risk of an occasional bug being
introduced.
What strategy should I use for my next sync project?
Yours
