Your 2008-01-19 change broke the packages smoketest, at:
http://labb.contactor.se/~matsl/smoketest/logs/
The issue is the
+(require 'ansi-color)
at around line 60; no version of XEmacs has ansi-color.el, so this will
always throw an error.
