Please describe as succinctly as possible:
- What happened.
- What you thought should have happened.
- Precisely what you were doing at the time.
Please also include any C or lisp back-traces that you may have.

Dear Bug Team!
I've just upgraded XEmacs from CVS, and now I'm seeing a new
bug... When I open a directory with find-file and then try to open any
file in it with dired-advertised-find-file, XEmacs complaints that
there's "No file on this line", even though the point is on the file
name.
Same here. First time dired runs, it seems to be OK i.e the permission bits
are highlighted in the user-defined face. When one presses g, to refresh
the list of files in the directory, then the permission bits lose their
face. Now the files become unmousable. Pressing enter tells me the file is
read-only. Pressing middle-button on a file tells me No selection or cut
buffer available. Pressing f tells me no file on this line. Pressing g also
leads to some kind of hang i.e I get the garbage collection cursor from
time to time and I have to press C-g to get out. All this was done with
xemacs -vanilla as well as my settings. The same settings work with 21.4.8
so I am not doing anything funky in my settings. This was as of June 1
20:00 CST CVS.
