Movemail problem with 21.0 "Norwegian"

I'm running 21.0 "Norwegian" on a Linux 2.0.34 system and using VM 6.53 for mail. When I hit "g" to get messages, more often than not, XEmacs hangs indefinitely, and in my /var/spool/mail directory I have -rw-rw---- 1 cgw mail 2353 Oct 2 12:28 cgw -rw-rw-rw- 1 cgw mail 4 Oct 2 12:29 cgw.lock when I forcibly remove "cgw.lock", XEmacs wakes up again.
