It may be that the libraries aren't present or something like that. If you don't get another response from a Red Hat user on this list, I suggest you contact Red Hat. I use Debian, so I don't know much about fixing Red Hat problems. (This is almost surely not an XEmacs "bug", but rather an issue with the Red Hat build environment.)
