Why the source rpm of xemacs-packages?
You need the binary rpms:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/m17n/9.3/RPMS/noarch/xemacs-packages-2005...
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/m17n/9.3/RPMS/noarch/xemacs-packages-el-2...
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/m17n/9.3/RPMS/noarch/xemacs-packages-info...
from ftp.suse.com and put them into an appropriate directory.
Then, I gave as root the command
> rpm -Uhv xemacs-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm xemacs-el-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm
xemacs-info-21.5.22-0.1.i586.rpm
This produced the following error message:
> error: Failed dependencies:
> xemacs-packages-el is needed by xemacs-el-21.5.22-0.1
Either install xemacs-packages-el as well or don't install xemacs-el.
These packages contain only *.el files which are not necessary
for running XEmacs. I.e. these packages are optional. You need them
only if you want to have a look at the lisp sources.
