packages update messed up?

does this work for anybody? I've tried Update Package Index,List & Install, & Update Installed Packages. Each one tries to retrieve the package index, then once the thing downloads, and I say ok use the pgp unsigned thing, i get an error. Opening input file: No such file or directory, /home/jmiller/.xemacs/package-index.LATEST.pgp well, of course not. I don't even have a .xemacs directory. so i create one. same error. no package-index in the .xemacs directory. this xemacs is from the latest cvs. jeff
