Actually, I've tried that. With that I still have to hit 'D' to get the text
to show up, so it doesn't buy me anything and I have the added inconvenience
of not automatically seeing the other html formatted email that doesn't have
problems without hitting 'D'.
Of course, I personally believe that html formatted email is evil, but still
have to live with it being sent to me occasionally...
Now if I had a way to say "if multipart/alternative and text/plain is present,
that takes precidence over text/html", that'd be great. But I couldn't find
any way to do that. If I had the time I'd hack up some of the VM code to get
that functionality, but I was hoping that perhaps I was just missing something
and this could already be done somehow.
