Did you do a 'make install' (after editing your Local.rules file to
suit) on the packages source tree?
I suggested that you use the XEmacs package tools because it is the
easiest way to update/manage your packages. Is there anything, aside
from unfamiliarity, that's stopping you from using PUI, like a
firewall that's blocking the FTP port?
