Isn't this situation what an inferior SQL mode is supposed to deal
with? Don't we have an inferior SQL mode?
The only mode I know about for sure is sql-mode 0.992. I actually
used it once when I was using Sybase exclusively. It did a pretty
good job with sql code, but I never did feel comfortable using its
interactive shell mode.
All the other modes I've seen are sybase or oracle specific to
my knowledge.
Don't forget, I am running an interactive program (isql for Syb
or sqlplus for Ora) and using xemacs shell mode as a convenience.
I could just as well be using program FOOBar for something else.
They value added here is the shell, forget what I am doing in it.
