Well, the problem has come back both on my laptop and my
office linux box. Both systems have 'focus_mode' set to click
but the dialogs are still partially broken (no response to a
click, sometimes a delayed response after the dialog is
destroyed by pressing the 'x' [such as with the 'compile' button]).
I just updated with yum and got updates to metacity, xemacs-common, and
xemacs-packages and the dialog behavior problem is still there.
