Looks good. The general notes summarizes my picture of how things are and work. So it is good to get it down in writing. I must embarrass myself(!?) by declaring that I fail to know about and find the DevGuide you are referring to. Where is it. In the source tree or on the web? A reflection: The "skip section 4.3.2"-text obviously highlights our problem with docs not being up to date. But at this point it might be more practical to add new documents than try to make the old ones correct. The web and the info pages would really need an update. I'd say updating the info-pages is a higher priority than the web page.
