By the way, I ran GDB in the latest Fedora Core 4 version of XEmacs to get the C backtrace in that last message. When I asked for the backtrace, XEmacs 21.4 produced these warnings: (1) (font/warning) Unable to instantiate font for face default, charset vietnamese-viscii-lower (2) (font/warning) Unable to instantiate font for face default, charset vietnamese-viscii-upper I presume this is due to the raw bytes in the execute_optmized_program calls. -- Jerry James, Assistant Professor james(a)xemacs.org Computer Science Department http://www.cs.usu.edu/~jerry/ Utah State University
