Not the only problem but the other problem is fixed. You need a recent
version of 21.5 built from sources to get the missing functionality.
The menu problem still remains thought. Hacking it away in the mode
either conditionally or permanently is of course a way to fix it.
I'm thinking if we should implement the :help keyword as a nop and
ignore it. I don't know if it is easy but guess/hope it is. So that we
just don't trip on it. Proper implementation of :help could then be
done later if it is needed.

OTOH it might pay putting XEmacs in state where it runs any GNU
originated code.
Would prefer assisting at XEmacs rather than installing work-arounds at
python-mode. Just a preference - not a refusal :)
After syntax.el is merged, where is the bottleneck now?
