This is fine.
It would be a good idea to avoid changing the line breaks; just wrap
exactly that text with appropriate comment markers, and make sure
there is no trailing whitespace.
Related to this change is that the date of the copyright is normally
not updated on this type of copyright change. Is this correct?
That is correct. This not copyrightable material, really.
