Also, maybe it is already clear to everyone, but one thing to pay
attention to are changes made only in the XEmacs packages tree relative
to the latest upstream release it was based on. If still applicable,
those should be preserved.

Such changes should be introduced by comments of the form:
;; XEmacs change
or
;; XEmacs change: summary of the change.
and be heeded on any future sync.
