Roland, I can confirm this bug in (package-get-package-provider 'ediff) (ediff "1.36") As a workaround I had to uncomment following line in site-start.el: (require 'ediff-hook) I still have left ;(add-hook 'ediff-load-hook 'ediff-xemacs-init-menus) commented out.
