just in case the relavant people are unaware of swig, I would like to post that as an option. www.swig.org I use it in witme and it allows one to wrap C/C++ code and interface to guile/perl/python/Java and other HLLs. Maybe there would be a common lisp module made for it, so that people who want to script emacs in python can, and people who want LISP can.
