Dear Bug Team!
When visiting a new file in my home directory:
C-x C-f ~\My Documents\foo.txt
XEmacs reports that the directory is write-protected and the resulting
buffer is read-only. Indeed, on inspection of my filesystem (Windows
XP with NTFS) my directories are marked "read-only", but this seems to
be the default and other applications have no issue with creating new
files. Removing this "read-only" attribute from the directory allows
XEmacs to create the new file, but I do not feel I should manually
remove this attribute from every new directory I create just because
XEmacs cannot do what other applications can.
