tried building --with-xft=emacs, and it seems to mostly work. But it
spews out lots of messages about fonts to the terminal, and the font
that it selected isn't the one I normally use (courier).
There's a node in the info file for XEmacs called 'Xft Font
Customization' that describes how to set things up to get the right font.
