It's not in any group yet. (Note that the sample message is still in
mbox format, and has no Lines, Xref, or X-Gnus-Mail-Source headers.)
The crash happens during the time when Gnus is picking up mail from
the spool -- it has moved /var/spool/mail/karl to .crash-box and is
analyzing the message for what nnml group to put it into.
