suggestion:
-- remove kill-whole-line = always.
-- C-k continues as "kill to end of line".
-- define M-k as kill-whole-line.
-- move the current, vastly underused, binding of M-k (kill-sentence) to
M-shift-k. this is still usable under tty's, as well.
I use M-k all the time, as do other people who are used to moving by
sentences. I must admit that I don't like this change. :-(
