I used xmodmap to see how my left windows key is setup, and it has:
keycode 133 = Super_L NoSymbol Super_L
(that is slackware using KDE)
And so is Kubuntu. Thanks for pointing it out to me that it is
keycode 133 = Super_L NoSymbol Super_L
And not
keycode 133 = Super_L
Probably works the same way for Hyper_L
well I just tried
First I did as Giacomo recommended
xmodmap -pke > kbstatus
then I changed
keycode 133 = Super_L NoSymbol Super_L
to
keycode 133 = Hyper_L NoSymbol Hyper_L
And run xdmodmap kbstatus
again
But it did not work!
One example, and I'm not sure if it is the best example, is
something
like Hyper_L + %, which is shifted-5 on the keyboard and may be affected
by whether there is a shift definition in the list for keycode 133.
I am not sure I understand do you really mean the line
keycode 133 = Hyper_L + %
That did not work: error:
xmodmap: kbstatus:128: bad keysym name '+' in keysym list
xmodmap: kbstatus:128: bad keysym name '%' in keysym list
xmodmap: 2 errors encountered, aborting.
