Regarding the compat package, I'm ready to set it up, either
directly to
xemacs-packages area, or unsupported/ if someone wants to play with it
before putting into official area. The interface was discussed somewhat
in xemacs-design but there's no conclusion yet. Just gimme a note and
I'll set it up...
I think the compat package is a nice idea. When you say "set it up"
what do you mean? Is there already an emacs lisp file? Perhaps the
least-hassle method is to put it in unsupported for now.
Given that this thing is work, another cost of compatibility borne by
the XEmacs maintainers, maybe it should be put off until there is
greater need or demand for it.
