GNU Emacs defines a string-to-syntax function in src/syntax.c. XEmacs, at
least through 21.4, fails to provide this function. The latest version of
python-mode (just released yesterday) uses this function in a number of
places. In my poking around I noticed that other major mode implementations
seem to use it as well Is there an Emacs Lisp version of this thing floating
around somewhere that I can use or is there a way to easily get by without
it?
Thx,
