How to reproduce:
Use the attached file "compilation-buffer" which is one of the
typical contents of the *compilation* buffer which triggers this
problem.
Call XEmacs like this:
xemacs -q -eval '(find-file "compilation-buffer")' -f
compile-goto-error
It crashes immediately.
Alternatively you could just load the file into XEmacs and hit
RET, then it will crash as well.
